JoshOkay, so I didn’t really work with Prince, but I did work with the man behind his new sound: Joshua Welton.

Me and Joshua met in high-school and kept in touch through church. I credit his family with not only helping me with my music career, but my relationship with God.

Anyway, back in 2007, when I first started my recording career, Joshua helped me with one of the first songs I ever wrote, “Thank God”. He produced my vocals and guided me in the recording studio. The song is still one of the strongest songs in my catalog to date. (Watch me and Joshua in the studio)

So imagine how proud I was when I found out Joshua was working behind the scenes with Prince, one of the most genius, legendary artists of all the time!

All I could think, was “Wow…I got to work with the same guy who currently produces for Prince”.

It got me thinking about my own career. I’ve been currently looking for artists to write and produce for. This past summer I got the opportunity to be a judge at “Aurora’s Got Talent” (my city’s version of America’s Got Talent”) . A young girl named Jaileen Rivera won, and I immediately jumped at the chance to work with her. I am currently writing a song just for her and producing her vocals. I’m trying to be to her, what Joshua was to me all those years ago.

The track I’m working on with Jaileen isn’t done, but the song I worked on with Joshua “Thank God” is available. And as a thank you for being one of my subscribers, I’d like to give it to you for FREE – no strings attached.

If you like the track you might also consider checking out “One on One (Always).” It’s my latest R&B single and it’s full of beautiful vocal arrangements that I think would make Joshua proud. 🙂
